We had our first 1st grade conference on Thursday night with Emily’s teacher, Mrs. Smith. We weren’t surprised to hear that she is doing well and enjoying what she does. We had to chuckle when we were told that her area for improvement is working on being a little less ‘social’. This girl comes from a long line of ‘social butterflies’ as my Grandma Rodgers used to say about my Dad!!!
Emily is doing great in math, reading and writing! I am most happy that she doesn’t seem to stress out as much as I used to. She is happy with herself and the speed at which she is learning. Her favorite thing about school right now is recess and P.E.
We were sent home with a WONDERFUL picture that Emily had done. The exercise was to write and draw what you do in the morning to get ready for school. Emily’s picture showed her eating breakfast, going potty and putting on lotions. Upon second review, we noticed that in the ‘going potty’ picture she was going potty while reading a book! That’s my girl!!!!
Way to go Scooter!
