Girls Day at Greenbluff!!!

Sunday afternoon found Em and me up at Greenbluff with Tricia, Paige, Ally and Ella (Ally's little friend)! What a busy little group of adventurers!! We had perfect weather as it was a crisp, sunny fall day and the girls had energy to burn! First stop was the hay bale maze - the big girls (Paige & Em) SO enjoyed this and went through it over and over again! Tricia and I tried to go through with all the girls, but our "be-hinnies" were a little to wide! The little girls (Ally and Ella) weren't as thrilled with the maze at first, but by the end of the day and with the sugar kicking in they were more than happy to pair up with the big girls and go through the maze several time!

Once we tired (only temporarily) of the maze we then visited both jumping castles, the blow-up caterpillar and finally the blow-up haunted house! Granted, I am not the most patient individual on earth, but the manners of some peoples kids! Tricia and I had to do everything in our power to bite our tongues as one rude child after another cut in line, pushed and shoved. Needless to say, there were a couple of occasions where I grabbed the back of a couple of boys shirts and told them to "wait their turn" or "do not push the younger kids." (Sorry I have no picture of this to insert!)

About the time when we lost all patience we realized we could take a time out and bribe the girls with food!!! (Good parenting!) Once we mentioned 'treats' Em was quick to mention the wonderful and infamous Harvest House pumpkin donuts! Tricia and the girls had never had the pleasurable experience of the pumpkin donut, so we hopped in line and a dozen donuts later...we had 1st snack! DELICIOUS!

So with full bellies we headed off on our next adventure...Shetland ponies!! The girls waited their turn in line and kept themselves busy by picking out which horse they would each ride! Once all four ponies were open, the girls hopped on to their pony! Their ride was the total of 6 laps in a circle! While this may not sound like a ton of fun...for two 6 year olds and 2 four year olds - this was a blast! Each one of them had a HUGE smile and was gracious and polite when they had to hop off!

Following the pony ride...SECOND SNACK!!!! The sweet siren song of the caramel apple was calling to the girls! So while Tricia got in line for two caramel apples, the girls and I pulled up a hay bale and listened to the music provided by a local band. Once we finished our snack, ran through the maze four more times, we packed up the troops and headed home! With a belly full of sugar - not a single kiddo fell asleep!
